The Children’s Division consists of children in grades first through sixth. Our
desire is to love and
nurture these children the way Jesus would have us. We pray daily for the
salvation of each child! We plant the seeds of salvation so God can water them
and help them to grow.
We have four fellowships per year. The summer fellowship is a swimming party,
fall is a campout, winter is making valentines for the nursing home, and the
spring fellowship is a trip to Astroworld. Each event is a wonderful
opportunity to spend time with Christian friends and invite others to join us.
Each year we do two service projects. During the months of June through November
we collect items for Operation Christmas Child, of Samaritans Purse, an
organization endorsed by Franklin Graham. At our annual campout we fill boxes
with these items for the children they will be going to around the world. Our
other project is a food drive for the Church Pantry in Bryan. We collect canned
goods from December through May. We believe it is important to teach the
children to be servants for the Lord and to help others.
In
the summer we take children that have completed first through third grade to
Highland Lakes Children’s Camp for two days. During a different week the fourth
through sixth graders go to the same location for Pre-Teen Camp lasting four
days. At camp the children are taught to work on their personal relationship
with Jesus Christ, and often come home with a renewed desire to seek the Lord
and to follow Him more closely. This excitement is a blessing to see.
Through love, service, prayer, and fellowships the teachers seek to teach the
children about Jesus and His love for them. The teachers strive to help them
grow daily with the Lord and to help them hold fast to their relationship with
Him.
